Communities around Oregon and the West Coast are currently in the worst wildfire fight ever recorded in our region. Over a million acres have burned in our Oregon backyard, destroying homes, businesses, forests and trails. The extensive need for support to those affected by the fires will last for many months to come, so we have set up a way to make your registration directly impact those in most need: the 2020 Run to Stay Warm Fire Relief Partner Program.
While the fires were still burning in the Cascade Mountains, we called local and regional business partners to make donations to the United Way Wildfire Response fund on your behalf. All you need to do is sign up to race and each participating business will make a donation to the United Ways’ Wildfire Relief & Recovery Funds for Lane County and the Pacific Northwest.
Here’s how it works:
Register for the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, or Layer Up Challenge in the 2020 Run to Stay Warm
Each business partner will pledge a dollar amount to donate to United Way on your behalf
To kick-off the fundraising efforts, the Run to Stay Warm will make a donation of $5 per participant
When new businesses sign up we will update our website so you will know exactly how much is going to the wildfire fund
About United Way Wildfire Response Funds:
“Your gift to this emergency fund provides immediate assistance to local nonprofits meeting the needs of families and individuals who have lost their homes, their businesses, or have been otherwise impacted by the 2020 fires in Lane County.”

“UWPNW will work in partnership with local United Way organizations in impacted communities across the region. All donations will be used to help provide displaced families with access to food, shelter, childcare, health care and other critical services. The fund will help these families meet their emergent and long-term recovery needs.”

Become a Fire Relief Business Partner
Our participants want to make a difference. Knowing that their registration will help support those in need, both through the EWEB Customer Care Program as it always has, and this year through the United Way Wildfire Response Fund, will motivate runners and walkers to lace up their shoes each morning, to complete their first 5K or train for a half-marathon, knowing that each mile matters.
If you are interested in becoming a Fire Relief Business Partner, please fill out the form below and you will be contacted by RTSW staff.
