We’re committed to making Run to Stay Warm as sustainable as possible, to have a positive impact on our local and global community.
Here are some of our 2018 sustainability measures:
Volunteers from Master Recyclers of Lane County will be onsite to help sort and dispose of waste.
All food scraps will be collected and composted.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own refillable water bottles. The EWEB water trailer will be at the start/finish line supplying tap water; we will not provide plastic/disposable water bottles.
Plastic and aluminum energy drink containers will be collected and redeemed for deposit. Proceeds will be donated to EWEB’s Customer Care Program.
Unused food will be donated to Eugene Mission.
To minimize waste, we are not providing race bags. If you would like a bag for your bib, shirt and personal belongings, please bring your own.
We eliminate unnecessary items whenever possible and reuse materials for multiple events.
We have sourced food and materials from local vendors whenever possible.
We encourage alternative transportation.
